To create a functional replacement for the broken hip component of my school's healthcare mannequin.
The end product should be suitable for use in the instructional environment and reasonably similar to the original part.
The prototypes were designed to be the absolute minimum to demonstrate core functionality: interfacing with the pelvis and leg and positioning the leg to be even with the other side.
The final model integrated the mating surfaces from the successful prototype, with the shape made of a 3D scan from the symmetric counterpart. The end result is
Functionally identical to the original part
The same shape as the original part
Suitably durable for instructional use
