Symphony is a new project in the H-STEM team within the Enterprise Program at Michigan Tech as of January 2026. We are developing collaborative autonomous systems designed to identify and support task completion, initially for movement assistance. I am the Team Lead of this project, responsible for managing project vision and direction, and ensuring timely deliverable completion.
THIS PROJECT IS UNDER ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT: THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED AS WORK IS COMPLETED
Our initial work will focus on using inertial and myoelectric sensors to detect gait instability, and modulate the amount of support an exoskeleton provides based on the predicted need of the user. This will allow exoskeletons to integrate better into the daily life of older adults, reducing fall risk and improving daily activity, without getting in the way.
